I recovered a large glacial boulder from Gore Creek of Vail Valley to create this work that encorporates the collected handprints of Vail’s youth. Placed in Big Horn Park, this stone will be a reminder of the generations of locals that live in Vail and there presence in relation to the natural setting of the creek that his boulder was taken from and the mountains that make Vail what it is. The handprints were sandblasted into the stone, inviting the touch of visitors and revealing there pattern with shadow.
